"La vida loca" student book reviews the colors, numbers up to 50 and previously taught greetings. It reviews basic questions, commands and introduces essential language structures needed for basic communication including: "está enojado, viejo, vieja, nuevo, bonita, alto, inteligente, gordo and feo ", while reviewing grammatical structures taught in previous workbooks.  In addition, it reviews formulaic expressions including: How are you? What are you called? How old are you? This workbook discusses family and home life in Spanish-speaking countries.

This workbook is recommended for students in 3rd grade after completing "Ana y las cucarachas verdes" workbook (second semester of the school year). There are three illustrated short stories in the workbook that allow students to practice reading in Spanish. Furthermore, there are several formats of written activities throughout the workbook, including a blank space where the students can draw and write the stories created in class, along with two musical activities. As part of the cultural activity, the students discuss family and home life in Spanish-speaking countries.
